REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:
STAGE
REHEARSALS: Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. DRESS REHEARSAL: Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
STAGE REHEARSALS (NO COSTUMES!) Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29
These rehearsals give our students the opportunity to convert their dances from studio to stage, and to begin to feel comfortable with the auditorium before worrying about costumes or stage lighting. Students learn entrances, placement on stage, exits, and proper backstage manners. See schedule posted below and at the studio. Rehearsal will begin promptly at 4:30 PM. PLEASE BE PROMPT FOR YOUR SCHEDULED REHEARSAL TIME! We cannot wait for latecomers. Children must arrive on time so they can be lined up with their classmates. The auditorium must be cleared by 8:00 PM sharp. Children should wear leotard and tights and bring appropriate dance shoes (NO COSTUMES!). Not sure of the name of your child's dance? Check this table!
Saturday, May 30 - 1:00-4:00 PM
This rehearsal will be a complete run-through of the recital in full costume, following our printed program as posted below (and as posted in the studio). This is a mandatory rehearsal for all students participating in our program, unless pre-approval is given for extenuating circumstances. Dancers in Act I of the recital must arrive by 12:45 PM for Dress Rehearsal. Students in Kinderdance, Pre-Ballet, Intro to Ballet I, and Ballet I should report to the Children’s Dressing Room (Choral Music Room - Classroom #165) until a Teacher Assistant or Parent Volunteer brings them backstage. Students in Ballet II and up may bring their costumes directly into the backstage Dressing Rooms. The young children appearing only at the beginning of Act I (Animal Crackers, Tippy Toe Mouse, Cuddle Up Cuddle Cub, and Little Ballet Swans) will be excused after rehearsing the Children’s Finale in the middle of Act I. Parents will then pick up their children in the Children’s Dressing Room (Choral Music Room - Classroom #165 - at approximately 2:00 PM). Students in Act II of the program (after intermission) should stay to rehearse the Grande Finale at the end of the show. Not sure of the name of your child's dance? Check this table!
